IPxx rating (waterproof rating)

The international industrial standard waterproof level IP and the Japanese industrial standard JIS waterproof level are similar, divided into 9 levels from 0 to 8, and the IP level also specifies dust prevention.

Dustproof and Waterproof

The protection level adopts the IP rating standard recommended by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and the level varies depending on the installation site. Please refer to the following instructions for specific selection. In the level standard, "XXX" is a two digit number, with the first digit indicating the protection level for solids and the second digit indicating the protection level for liquids. There are 7 levels of solid protection, represented by 0-6 respectively; There are 9 levels of liquid protection, represented by 0-8.

Regulations on Waterproof Testing in IPxx Level (IPX6, IPX7, IPX8)

IPx 6

Method name: Strong water spray test;

Experimental equipment: The inner diameter of the nozzle's spray port is 12.5 mm

Test conditions: Keep the distance between the test sample and the water spray nozzle at 2.5m-3m, with a water flow rate of 100 L/min (6000 L/h)

Test time: Calculated based on the surface area of the tested sample shell, 1 minute per square meter (excluding installation area), with a minimum of 3 minutes

IPx 7

Method name: Short term immersion test

Experimental equipment and conditions: immersion tank. The size should be such that after the sample is placed in the immersion tank, the distance from the bottom of the sample to the water surface is at least 1m. The distance from the top of the sample to the water surface should be at least 0.15m

Test time: 30 min

IPx 8

Method name: Continuous diving test;

Test equipment, test conditions, and test time: to be agreed upon by the supply and demand (buyer and seller) parties, and their severity should be higher than IPX 7.
